Hello, my name is Rebecca Berent Fien and I am a graphic, web and interactive multimedia designer. I graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology last May with my Master's of Fine Arts degree in Computer Graphics Design and am currently seeking work in my field.

I am passionate about graphic and multimedia design, as well as ActionScript (Flash) programming, and video and motion graphics, examples of which can be found in my portfolio. In the past, I worked for 2 years as the internal web designer for Nixon Peabody LLP, and I currently teach graphic and web design at RIT and Bryant and Stratton colleges. More information about my past employment, skills, and more is available by visiting my résumé section, or by clicking here to download a PDF of my résumé.

My thesis for the Computer Graphics Design MFA degree was an interactive, instructional multimedia CD that teaches swimmers how to improve upon their stroke technique. Being a swimmer myself, I chose the topic and gathered information through interviews, video, photos, and other research to put together an effective teaching tool. I learned a great deal about design, particularly typography and layout, and I gained skills in video shooting and editing, as well as programming using Flash and ActionScript. The finished product is a multimedia program split into different targeted sections, each of which contain video, motion graphics, animations, photos, sound, text, and more.

Besides designing, I love to be crafty in other ways. I am crazy about designing jewelry, purses, clothing, and gifts for friends. I also design and print posters and other materials for local music festivals and bands, and I frequently take on freelance graphic and web design jobs for various clients. I also enjoy modeling, acting, and anything musical. I spend most of my time with my husband Dave, our adorable pup, Eva, and our crazy kitty, Coraline.
